When your application is past processing time
Passing the number in IRCC’s processing times tool feels like crossing a finish tape that nobody else acknowledges. Still: that number is a statistical guide, not a personal appointment.
Checklist before you contact anyone
- Confirm you selected the correct application type in the tool.
- Confirm you have answered every IRCC request.
- Note your key dates: submission, AOR, biometrics, medicals.
- Read IRCC’s contact guidance for over-time applications.
Then use official channels
The web form is commonly used to ask about applications over normal processing time. Keep the message factual. Avoid daily duplicates.
Political representatives or ATIP notes are sometimes used later; they are not day-one tools for every file.
