PPR, COPR, and eCOPR explained
Late-stage PR jargon clusters around three labels: PPR, COPR, and eCOPR. They are related, but they are not interchangeable stickers.
PPR — Passport Request
Applicants often use “PPR” when IRCC asks for a passport or related steps so confirmation of permanent residence can be issued. Instructions differ by visa office and application type.
COPR — Confirmation of Permanent Residence
COPR is the document confirming you are a permanent resident once landing/activation steps are completed as instructed.
eCOPR — electronic COPR
Many in-Canada applicants receive an electronic confirmation. Follow portal instructions for signing and next steps.
