Privacy Policy

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Loopiva: Crochet for Beginners ("Loopiva", "we", "us", or "the app") handles your information. We built Loopiva to be private by design: you can learn to crochet without creating an account, and most of your activity stays on your device.

By using Loopiva, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Information we collect

Information you provide

• Photos you choose for the AI Stitch Fix and image features (only when you select or capture them).
• Community content you choose to publish — images, captions and comments.
• Messages you send us for support.

Information stored on your device

• Your learning progress, completed steps, streak, saved projects and in-app preferences (such as reminders and haptics). This is stored locally on your device and is not uploaded to us.

Information collected automatically

• Purchase and subscription status (for example, which plan is active and whether a trial is in use), processed through Apple and our subscription provider.
• Basic technical and diagnostic data such as app version, device type and general region, used to keep the app working reliably.

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email or contacts unless you voluntarily send them to us for support.

How we use your information

• To provide and improve crochet lessons, tools and visual guides.
• To process your AI requests and return suggestions or generated images.
• To display and moderate community content you choose to publish.
• To manage subscriptions, trials and restore purchases.
• To send the optional reminders you enable.
• To diagnose problems, prevent abuse and keep the app secure.

AI features & photos

When you use AI Stitch Fix or generate crochet-style images, the photo or prompt you provide is sent securely to our processing service and to our AI provider (OpenAI) to produce a result.

Please avoid uploading photos that contain sensitive personal information or other people without their consent.

Community content

If you publish a post or comment, that content (including any image and caption) is stored on our servers and is visible to other users of the app. Do not post content you are not comfortable sharing publicly. You can request removal of your content at any time by contacting us.

Purchases & subscriptions

Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store; we never see or store your payment card details. We use RevenueCat to validate and track subscription status using an anonymous, randomly generated identifier — not your Apple ID or real name.

Tracking & App Tracking Transparency

Loopiva does not track you across other companies' apps and websites without your permission. Where required, we present Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt and respect your choice. If you decline, we do not access the device advertising identifier for cross-app tracking.

Third-party services

We share limited information with service providers strictly to operate the app:

• Apple — App Store purchases, subscriptions and notifications.
• RevenueCat — subscription validation and analytics (anonymous identifier).
• OpenAI — processing AI Stitch Fix and image generation requests.
• Vercel — hosting our backend, content delivery and community storage.

We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention

On-device data remains until you delete it or remove the app. Community content remains until you or we remove it. AI request data is retained only as long as needed to deliver and secure the feature, after which it is deleted by us and handled by our providers according to their policies.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Because we do not maintain accounts, the simplest way to exercise these rights is to delete the app (removing on-device data) and to contact us for any content stored on our servers.

Children's privacy

Loopiva is rated 4+ and is intended for a general audience. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, within the app.
