This Privacy Policy describes how Tappa ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use Antique Identifier (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
When you scan an antique, you provide us with a photo. This image is transmitted securely to OpenAI's API to perform the analysis. We do not store your images on our own servers. OpenAI processes images in accordance with their own Privacy Policy.
Analysis results (name, era, value estimate, etc.) are stored locally on your device only using iOS standard storage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export or share it.
We do not currently use third-party analytics SDKs. Basic diagnostic information (crash reports) may be collected by Apple's built-in crash reporting if you have opted into sharing analytics with app developers in your iOS settings.
If you contact us via email, our Contact form, or Feedback form, we receive the information you provide (name, email, message). This is used solely to respond to your enquiry and is not shared with third parties.
We use OpenAI's GPT-4o Vision API to analyse images and power the AI Advisor. Images and chat messages are transmitted to OpenAI for processing. OpenAI operates its own privacy practices — please review openai.com/privacy for details on how they handle API data.
The App is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple may collect device identifiers and usage statistics in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy.
Your collection data and scan results are stored exclusively on your device using iOS-native storage (UserDefaults and the local file system). We do not operate user accounts or remote databases containing your personal antique collection.
Images transmitted to OpenAI are sent over encrypted HTTPS connections. We implement reasonable technical measures to protect data in transit.
Local data (your collection, scan history) remains on your device until you delete it via Settings → Clear All History, or until you uninstall the App. You are in full control of your local data at all times.
Support communications are retained for up to 2 years to help resolve recurring issues.
Antique Identifier is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can delete it.

Images you scan are processed by OpenAI's API which operates in the United States. By using the App, you consent to this transfer. We rely on OpenAI's compliance with applicable data protection regulations for these transfers.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via an in-app notice or update note. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
