Most of what Tappa builds is for Tappa. Once or twice a year, we take on a client app. We are opening one slot for Q1 2027. If you have an idea you would like to build with a small, opinionated team that has shipped eight live apps, this post is for you.
What we are looking for
A client we are likely to say yes to has three things:
- A category we believe in. We say no to categories where we do not have a thesis. We say yes to ones where we think we can ship something the App Store does not have.
- A founder who can decide. Our process moves fast. It does not survive a committee. We need one person in the room who can answer "yes, ship it" or "no, change it" without scheduling a meeting.
- A real budget. A serious iOS app is not a side project. We will quote honestly and we will not start until the budget covers a full v1 plus three months of post-launch iteration.
What you get
A full-stack iOS team for the duration of the engagement: founder oversight from Bohdan, design from Oliver, engineering led by Nathan, ASO and launch support from Eleanor. We do not subcontract. The same five people you meet in week one are the people writing the code in week ten.
How we price
Fixed-fee for the v1, with a clear scope written down. We bill in three milestones: design lock, alpha, launch. Post-launch, we move to a small monthly retainer if you want us to keep shipping. If you do not, we hand off cleanly with documentation, every key, and a debrief.
What we will not do
We do not build white-label crypto products, we do not build attention-extraction apps for kids, and we do not work on anything that requires us to lie to App Review.
If you have something to discuss, the address is bohdan@tappa.tech. We answer every email.
